Folk Embroidered Skirt L

This antique embroidered skirt is a feast for the eyes! Our research attributes it to the Banjur tribe (currently of Rajhastan) but a few of the motifs and the style suggest Peru..The fabric and quality of embroidery seems to be circa 1930s-1940s. The skirt's front is covered with a minimal crosshatch motif pattern and the back is fully festive with flowers, dots and little people with long arms all around! Patched applique border at the hem, feather stitch at the banded waistband and double hook & eye, snap and slit closure in back. The skirt is full and voluminous down to the ankle length hem.

Condition: Excellent. A few extremely faint marks on the skirt (hardly worth noting)
